About us

Since 2012, we have successfully worked with a wide variety of both Primary and Secondary School aged students whose specific needs are not being fully met, in turn causing them to struggle to access mainstream schooling.

We work in partnership with local schools and local authorities to provide holistic education for students who for various reasons who cannot attend mainstream school or near permanent exclusion. With each child, our aim is to provide the right level of support that will see them succeed in the future, and reach the opportunity to re-integrate back into a traditional school environment.

We provide a comprehensive educational programme that caters for the whole person: academically, vocationally, socially, morally, physically and emotionally. We pull focus onto the National Curriculum (particularly the core subjects of English and Maths), within a small and personal learning environment. We instil a ‘can do’ attitude in our students, by working towards raising aspirations, unlocking potential and achieving excellence.

Our Aim

Figure of Eight Education exists to provide a comprehensive educational programme that caters for the whole person: academically, vocationally, socially, morally, physically and emotionally. Our task is to serve our learners, families and the wider community through our shared values of raising aspirations, unlocking potential and working to achieve excellence by encouraging a ‘can do’ attitude which nurtures confident and competent people.

We aim to work in partnership with local secondary schools to provide individual personalised education for young people at threat of permanent exclusion. We aspire to forge links with local businesses, charitable organisations and work-based learning providers.

Our Values

  • We support all young people who are disengaged from mainstream education.

  • We strive to ensure that the young people attending our centre gain accreditation through a practical programme of activities taking into account individual learning needs.

  • Our work is conducted in a safe caring environment where young people are listened to and feel valued.

  • Our leaders have a clear appreciation of student needs and are dedicated to ensuring the highest possible standards and progress in all areas of work.

  • Our leaders will be reflective and self-critical and set a clear vision for the provision, so that staff work together with a common and shared purpose to develop excellence for the young people in our care.

  • We aspire to forge links with local businesses, charitable organisations and work-based learning providers.
